How to Start Your Own Trucking Company

Starting your trucking company and getting motor carrier operating authority can be complicated and frustrating. Before getting started, you should understand the basics of starting a business, learn the government’s requirements, and understand what is necessary to get started.

The FMCSA has set very specific rules and regulations for the trucking industry and there are numerous forms to complete and steps to take, both with the FMCSA and other agencies, before authority is granted. The FMCSA also has specific requirements for “New Entrants” ranging from safety monitoring to record keeping to equipment maintenance during the initial 18 months after authority is granted.

This seminar will help you understand the government’s requirements to obtain motor carrier operating authority, the steps necessary to ensure your trucking company stays compliant through the New Entrant period, and what you can do to ensure your new trucking company is successful.
