HISTORY
2020-The staff of Expedite Expo made the difficult decision to reschedule Expedite Expo 2020. We feel the increase of COVID cases in so many states and just the restrictions we would have to make to have the show, we don’t feel it is best for us to meet at this time. Expedite Expo 2021 has been rescheduled to July 16-17, 2021. Thank you for giving us the time to work through all these changes during this crazy time in all our lives. See you in 2021, again in Fort Wayne, IN, July 16-17.
2019- On both mornings of the Expo, there was dedicated education before the show floor opened so that attendees could focus on taking advantage of the full slate of educational workshops, without being distracted by other events happening at the show. Once again our Industry Outlook panel was a huge success, the panel addressed a packed house of owner-operators, drivers, fleet owners, and folks completely new to the industry to talk about some of the significant trends to watch that could directly impact their business. See you in 2020, again in Fort Wayne, IN, October 23-24.
2018- New this year was a State of the Industry panel discussion, everyone seemed very interested to hear from our panelists on their views, this session was very popular. Attendees all seemed to agree that our workshops this year were of great value to them. Lexington as been a great location for us, but in 2019 it is time to move on to our next location, cannot wait! July 19-20, 2019, Fort Wayne, IN.
2017- We had some updates to our schedule this year, for example we placed all the workshops, roundtables and networking sessions in the early morning, before we opened the show floor. This was very well received by everyone. Our attendance reflects a trend that’s occurring within our industry and that is the fast and furious growth of Fleet Owners. For the last 5 years, Fleet Owners (FO) are the fastest growing group at our Expo. Pre 2008 it was Owner Operators, at this time Fleet Owner growth resembles a hockey stick. I met many FO’s this past Expo. We had the most FO’s register in all our history.
2016 – When the trumpet player sounded the traditional Kentucky Derby call at 9:00 a.m. on July 15, at the Lexington Center in Lexington, Ky., the 16th annual Expedite Expo was off and running — a “race” packed with education, networking, and entertainment. And it finished strong the next day with a driver appreciation BBQ. While overall attendance for this year’s show was off from previous years, the quality of attendees was higher, the Expo is a mirror of the industry — with participation as a direct reflection of the market. The exhibit hall also offered the opportunity and convenience for prospective owner-operators to meet with recruiters from a wide range of carriers.
2015 – We announced that this would be our last year at the Roberts Center in Wilmington, OH. In 2016, the Expedite Expo will be moving to the Lexington Center in Lexington, OH.
2014 – At the Expo attendees learned about career opportunities in the trucking industry, check out the newest trucks and equipment and took a look back a trucking past with the All American Antique Truck Show.
2013 – A busy year for the Expo, besides the exhibit hall with career opportunities we had a circus and magicians on the show floor, two days of workshops along with our famous Casino night followed by the Party on the Patio and finished up with our driver BBQ after the close of the show.
2012 – An exciting milestone occurred at the 12th Annual Expo, due to the continued growth in the trucking industry and a stronger economy – the Expo filled all 4 exhibit halls of the Roberts Convention Centre! Attendees from 42 states and Canada made the 2012 show the most successful so far!
2011 – By the second quarter of 2011 most expedited trucking carriers were reporting strong growth over the previous years. That growth was reflected in a positive way at the Expo. Most companies leveraged their growth and expanded their exhibit space to increase their visibility. Another, highlight of 2011 was when John Ratzenberger addressed the Expo attendees with his wit, humor and wisdom on the American trucking industry.
2010 – The early signs of the economic recovery was apparent at Expedite Expo 2010, initiating a time where we are seeing new industry leaders emerge with great products, services and opportunities!
2009 – Despite the harsh economic climate of 2009 Expedite Expo demonstrated to the industry that in even in challenging times this event has proven to be an invaluable resource to exhibitors and attendees alike.
2008 – Expedite Expo had astounding results for exhibitors, participants, and attendees alike. Truck sales, recruitment, and overall interest in the expediting industry went up, up, UP!.
2007 – The year Expedite Expo and Speedco, Inc. gave away a Tricked out expediter truck from Country Music Television’s Chrome Shop Mafia. This was also a record breaking year with over 5,415 attendees from 36 States and Canada.
2006 – This year marked two major changes for the Expedite Expo. First, the show moved from Metro Detroit to the heartland of Ohio, and secondly, the show moved indoors to the beautiful Roberts Convention Centre. These combinations created the “perfect storm”, or in this case the “perfect expo” – with over 4,000 people in attendance, this was by far the best expo in our seven year history.
2005 – This was the year of the Expediter Trucks. Truck manufacturers and dealers from across the US showcased their products and introduced several new models and major enhancements to their sleepers and engine options. Registered attendees from 36 states and Canada participated in the 2005 expo.
2004 – Trucking radio legend Dave Nemo was on hand to give live, hourly updates on the expo and the events while they were in progress. This show was also a record-breaking year. Attendance doubled from 2001.
2003 – In 2003 the expo expanded and the exhibit area doubled. The workshop line up was also doubled. Attendees registered from 30 states and 3 Canadian provinces.
2002 – In the second year of the expo – several new features were added to the events line-up, the Expediter Pride Truck Image Contest, The Expediter Workshops and an outdoor music concert to entertain the attendees and exhibitors after a busy day of exhibiting.
2001 – The inaugural year for Expedite Expo. It was the first and only show of its kind for the expedited trucking industry. Exhibitors and attendees from over twenty states participated in the 2001 show.
